Enligt ros-fossil man hittat, har den existerat i 35 miljoner år. Man började odla den i trädgårdar för omkring 5000 år seden i kina, sen dess har den ofta florerat i konsten och ofta blivit använts i riter och som symbol. En gammal arketyp som efter hand fyllt så många olika funktioner att den tömts på mening och blivit närmst abstrakt?
